Mosby is located northeast of Kansas City. It once had three railroads, including both main lines of the Rock Island, the Milwaukee Road and a branch line of the Kansas City, Clay County & St. Joseph Railway, an interurban.
Today, Union Pacific and Canadian Pacific (DM&E) operate the Rock Island and Milwaukee Road, while the interurban was abandoned in 1933.
